Office survivor 3 Automated Screenshots for Your Website Review

So, its cool to have an automated screen shot of s spesific site in your post.so, i decided to to some research and found about three options to do it right.well, the truth is its two good and one which i would not  recommnaded but its works and has no faults, so we need to add him also on the list

Snap.com

My first option will be the snap-shot plugin.althought you have to open an account on http://www.snap.com/ and it’s commercial and its add some ads to the pop-up screen, bu the end of the day , its brings an updated image of the site, its pop-up(we said it) and its cool. They say it keeps visitor’s more time on your site, but i havent foun any proof of it.installation of the plugin is not very “easy”.i found the best way to do it is to add as they say this code :

<script type=“text/javascript” src=“http://shots.snap.com/ss/<personall code>/snap_shots.js”></script>

on your footer.php file.

so:

pros– cool, nice looking popup, easy to a wp developer to add one line code, good managment website.
pros –non wp developr might get lost, commercial, have ads.

WordPres.org Non supported URL Web Service

Survivor or not, had some time at the office, so i looked at this blog article on http://www.wpbeginner.com.They have several good articles on wordpress and i did had some insight.on this article they refer to a nice “finding” that Binary moon blogger found.reading his article it seems that wp.org had this option.he talked with them and they said you can use it but its not supported and it might disapper in the future. But for current time, BM developed a quick code to use the webservice and wrapped it in a plugin.you can download the plugin here.after install it, you can use it on a post with this kind  of short code:

browsershot url=“http://link-to-website” width=“foo-value”

So Now lets put a real url like www.theofficesurvivor.com and width will be 300.

www.theofficesurvivor.com

Working and nice
pros — free, do the job, have a plugin which is free also
cons-not publicity supported by wp.No pop up.

Web Collage

Web collage works on your links.Add all sites you want to have snap shots on the link zone.then, create a page and add this short code  : [webcollage]. then all your links will be with the snap shots. The secret behind this plugin is the usage of http://www.websnapr.com/ service. They give you the option to generate a snap shot of a site for free in two sizes, and it takes some time to retrive it– mostly you get a message where your request is queued. For more image size and quicker image serve you have to pay.The webcollage plugin has a simple line where the magic happens. The line is :

<img src=\“http://images.websnapr.com/?size=T&key=<the plugin key>&url=http://www.theofficesurvivor.com

here is an example :

pro : working, free from commercial owner (like snap.com).

cons:takes some time to get the image, free images come only at 200px width size, adds a watermark/link on the image.

I hope you found this article suitable to your need.good luck !
