Food affects on office survivor

Everyone has to eat something; it can be a yogurt a slice of bread of even full meal. This article deals with the dilemma with who do I have to eat in order to advance myself.

Eating alone from time to time is ok, but not on regular bases — in order to get yourself align and learn about office politics you mustn’t eat by yourself.

Eating alone indicates you are a lone wolf that doesn’t want to attach to anyone, or doesn’t really care about the else. If you are a lone wolf you have to get it into your skull that in order to win the office politics, or at least learn them a little bit you must stop with this.

Eating with working friends or with (direct) supervisor(s)? – There is a little conflict here as you can’t do them both (there are slight chances that your supervisor is your friend also).

Eating with your boss might seems nice and can be ok in the spirit of office survivor as it will give you a chance to learn about the different office politics and what’s really going on, as times goes as more as you’ll get closer to your supervisor it will give you a chance to be promoted. On the other hands your friends will see you with the supervisor all the time this can cause for antagonism by them, meaning you’ll be “ban” from small talks and internal office politics that run in the team.

Eating with your friends will allows you to know everything that goes in the team but will keep you away from getting closer to your supervisor.

The answer for this is very simple as it depends on your position in the office, as there are few ways to look at it:

  1. Supervisors – try to eat with your employees at least once in 2–3 weeks, this helps you to get closer to them and hear them up. Who knows you might even learn something about office politics or office survivor tactics that you weren’t aware about it until now.
  2. Workers – eat with your Colleagues.as this bond what helps you in surviving the everyday and empower internal office politics for your own good. As your supervisor might join you from time to time, as a simple employee try to eat with him at least once a week (without the rest of the team).
  3. Lone wolves – didn’t we say earlier there isn’t such a thing, as it doesn’t matter if you are supervisor or not, don’t eat alone!! As you can see even a simple thing as having meal can have some influence on the office politic

Eating with others might encourage you to insert a new rule, but it defiantly won’t deny you from knowing all there is to know about the current up-to-date politics in the office.
